Customer Service - Call Center Agent

We are hiring for Customer Service Agent to help during our busy holiday season, approximately October - March.  Both part-time and full-time positions are available, with flexible schedules and the potential of seasonal - to hire employment.  Will be required to work some Saturdays.  We offer competitive pay and sales commission, and a fun and friendly work environment.

We are seeking professionals with strong communication skills and who enjoys learning and working with other talented individuals.  This Customer Service Agent will assist customers and provide Administrative Support.  If you enjoy learning, have the desire to develop your skills and think you have the knack to provide exceptional customer service – Apply!

Position Summary:

Interact with customers by answering incoming calls, emails and chats to provide information about our products, help customers with purchasing decisions and place orders, troubleshoot AeroGarden technical and plant-growth issues, handle and resolve complaints.  

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers by answering incoming calls, e-mails and chat
  • Place new ordersaccurately and in accordance with operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot product issues and send warranty replacement parts as needed
  • Generate and provide quotes to customers that request them
  • Must be able to balance a warm, friendly but professional tone when communicating with customers, either by phone, e-mail or chat.
  • Must be able to convey complex ideas, both verbally and in written communication

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Excellent typing skills with speed and accuracy – minimum 45 wpm (typing test will be given)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (phone interview and chat interview will be conducted)
  • Strong organization, prioritization and problem solving
  • Ability to read and interpret document such as procedure manuals, work instructions and software manuals.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, and ability to quickly learn order software and phone systems
  • Knowledge of basic math: add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; and the ability to compute discounts and sale percentages accurately
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve problems and think on your feet when presented with several concrete variables in standardize situations
  • Be able to handle escalated calls in Supervisor’s absence positively and with poise
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
  • Ability to work well with a team

Education/Experience Required:

  • Call Center experience is preferred
  • 1 – 2 years of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Work Conditions: Standard office environment with low level of noise.  Position will require hours sitting at work desk in front of a computer and using a phone to perform job.  In addition, the job requires occasional standing and the ability to lift up to 25lbs.  The employee is rarely required to climb, stop, kneel or crouch.  Some Saturdays and Sundays work will be required during the busy season.

Compensation: Hourly rate, based on experience, and sales commissions

Location: Boulder CO (Gunbarrel district)
